You did. I don't know if anyone's said it to you plainly, so I will: you did a good job. Half the things I'm proud of in myself trace straight back to something you taught me, usually without either of us noticing it was a lesson. You showed up. You kept your word. You made the hard stuff look survivable. That's the whole job, and you did it. I turned out okay because of you, and I don't say that nearly enough.
