Acceptable use

OpenWhen is designed for sharing positive, personal messages. You agree not to use this service for:

Harassment, threats, or hate speech
Illegal content or activities
Spam or commercial advertising
Malware or phishing attempts
Content involving minors inappropriately

Content responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content of your messages. We do not pre-screen content but may remove messages that violate these terms.

Premium

Writing and sending letters is free. Premium is a one-time payment, never charged again, and is valid for 1 year on the browser you buy it on, for every letter you write there. It is tied to that browser, so clearing its cookies or switching devices before the year is up loses access. Letters you already sent keep their Premium features for good. Payments are processed by Stripe, by Dodo Payments (the seller of record for purchases it handles), or by Google Play in our Android app.

Service availability

This service is provided "as is" without warranties. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time. Messages may expire or be removed without notice.

Rate limits

To prevent abuse, we limit message creation to 10 per hour per IP address. Attempting to circumvent these limits may result in a ban.

Reporting abuse

To report abusive content, send us the message URL through the support form. Every page has a “Need help?” button that opens it.
